Strenci Paddling marathon- The Way of Timber raft 2014

Latvijas Kanu airēšanas biedrība invites you to Strenci Paddling marathon- The Way of Timber raft 2014.

This race will take place in Gauja river on saturday May 17, 2014, during the annual international festival of the Gauja Raftsmen (Strenci municipality- www.strencunovads.lv) Race distance is 37,5 km from Spicramis bridge (a bridge over the Gauja, road P24) to Strenci. There is a lot of water. Race start will be given at 10:00.

Award ceremony will be held shortly before the concert in Strenci open-air stage. Participants and their support teams will have access to a separate territory for camping and boat parking near the finish. Support teams are welcome to enjoy festival events in Strenci town all day long. At the late evening there will be fireworks show and open-air party (ball) with live music.

Participants can enter the competition with any type of kayak (including flatwater racing and fitness kayaks), canoe, inflatable boat or SUP board.

By registering and paying the membership fee by 10 May 2014 the race entry fee is € 15.00 per person, youth from 14-17 years of age - EUR 7.00 per person, children under 14 - free of charge. Youth and children can participate in competition together with an adult. Participation fee includes soup and hot tea at the finish, as well as prizes.
